Preparing For Your House Removal When Pregnant

Moving house is a very stressful time and there’s perhaps nothing more stressful than trying to move house when you’re pregnant! There are lots of extra precautions and safety steps that you need to take if you’re moving house when pregnant. Here are just a few of the things to be aware of if you’re moving into a new home and you’re expecting!1)    Move as soon as you can.If you’re pregnant and you’re looking to be settled into your new home before your baby arrives then you need to have everything ready and prepared within a certain time scale. Don’t waste time and leave rental agreements or mortgage decision until the last minute! Work quickly to ensure that you can get the keys to your property as soon as possible so you have more time to work on the actual moving day! 2)    Move as quickly as you can.The moving process can be completed quickly if it really needs to be. Once you have the paperwork all sorted all you need to do is pack up and clean your home. Make sure that you have all of the materials that you need for both of these tasks, and get straight to work. Try to stick to a schedule if you’re very short on time, but don’t exhaust yourself! Enlist help where necessary and make sure you’re not getting too stressed or worried about the move! 3)    Make sure you have all of the help that you’ll need.Friends and family can be invaluable if you’re moving house when pregnant. They can help you with planning, packing and even travelling! If you want a little extra help, or if you’re looking for something a little more professional then why not hire a removal company? Make sure that you have someone who can lift heavy boxes and furniture around – this is definitely something you should not be doing when pregnant as it can cause harm to both you and your baby! Invest in movers if you have very heavy items of furniture, or see if your friends and family are available to help! 4)    Changing your doctor. If you’re moving out of the catchment area for your doctor then it’s essential that you get signed up to a new practice immediately. Research the area before you move to find a surgery that seems appropriate for you and make sure that you’re registered there before moving day, just in case you find yourself in need of non-emergency medical help! 5)    Assembling furniture. If you’re moving into a new home and you’re pregnant then chances are that you have some furniture to assembly. Whether this is a crib or even a wardrobe, furniture should be assembled as soon as possible. If the task is small and you think you’re more than able to complete it on your own or with the help of family then this is definitely something you should do. However, if you aren’t sure about what you’re doing, or if you’re going to be putting any strain on yourself and your body then you might want to hire professional help. Handymen will be able to assemble any furniture that you can’t manage to do on your own, and this is a much safer option for you and your baby! Never lift anything heavy while pregnant and always make sure you avoid stressful or taxing situations, especially towards the end of your pregnancy.
