Tips on Moving with Pets-Caring for Pets while on Journey

Moving can be stressful for each member of the family. And pets are no exception. In fact, moving homes can be much more traumatic for pets. The long, solo journey can make them feel anxious and terrified. Therefore, make every effort to make the transition pleasant and fun for them. If you are a pet owner, follow these tips on moving with pets.
Choose a moving company that has experience in moving pets. This is the only way you can make sure that your pets are safe and comfortable. If the moving company can not provide a specific service for your pet, they should be able to give you a referral to a company that can.
Pack familiar items. Pack all your pet's toys, blankets, drugs, food and collars in one box and give it to the person who will be responsible for moving your pet. Don't wash the toys prior to your move as this may take away familiar smells that will help your pets feel comfortable during the journey.
Prepare a written instruction. Most pets are accustomed to routines you have established over the years. Dogs may enjoy afternoon walks, cats expect to be fed in a specific time and horses may require a daily work out.  Whatever the daily routine are, be sure to write down these regular activities and hand them to person who will take care of your pets.
Don't forget to obtain a copy of your pet's records from the veterinarian long before moving day. You might want to put it in a place where it is easily accessible, along with your personal documents.
No matter how far you're moving or how many pets you are taking with you, these easy tips will surely make the experience better for you and your pet.
